Dialogue

A: Hello, this is Tim in IT.

B: Hi, Tim. This is Sara. I'm calling from the third floor. I've got a problem with my keyboard.

A: Good morning, Sara. Is it a standard keyboard or a wireless keyboard?

B: It's a standard one, and the delete key is stuck. I've deleted a whole page of text!

A: Oh dear! So first, make sure you've saved all your work. OK, now unplug the keyboard from your PC. Next, turn it over and hit it gently.

 

B: What? Are you sure?

A: Yes - if the keys have got dirt inside them, they sometimes get stuck.

B: OK... now what?

A: Now plug the keyboard in again. Press the enter key and see what happens.

B: Alright. Hey, it's working! Thanks.

A: Great!

B: Tim, wait a minute. Now the s key isn't working. I'm pressing the key, but the symbol doesn't appear on the monitor.

A: Alright, I'll come and take a look. We'll try cleaning some of the keys.

B: Thanks. I'm in Room 312

Translation

A: Hola, soc Tim, d'informàtica.

B: Hola, Tim. Soc la Sara. Truco des de la tercera planta.  Tinc un problema amb el teclat.

A: Bon dia, Sara. És un teclat estàndard, o un teclat sense fils?

B: És un estàndard, i la tecla d'esborrar està encallada. He esborrat una pàgina completa de text!

A: Deu meu! Doncs primer, assegurat que has desat tot el teu treball. D'acord, ara desendolla el teclat de l'ordinador. Després, dona-li la volta i colpeja'l amb cura.

B: Què? Estàs segur?

A: Sí - si les tecles tenen brutícia a dins, de vegades s'encallen.

B: D'acord... i ara què?

A: Ara endolla el teclat de nou. Pressiona la tecla d'entrar i mira què passa.

B: Molt bé. Ei, funciona! Gràcies.

A: Perfecte!

B: Tim, espera un moment. Ara la tecla S no funciona. Pressiono la tecla, però el símbol no apareix a la pantalla.

A: Bé, vindré i faré un cop d'ull. Provarem de netejar algunes de les tecles.

B: Gràcies. Soc a l'habitació 312.
